Re: Financial Fair Play
It's such a pity they went up. They'd have been a great test case in the Championship to get these nonsense rules thrown out at EU level.

Re: Financial Fair Play
I agree with the guy it's not fair play at all, I'd definitely be in favour of a set wage/spending cap rather than one based on income which just benefits the already rich clubs.

Of course, if they hadn't gone up, then there wouldn't be any penalties applied to them for their first season after relegation...Ethiaa wrote:It's such a pity they went up. They'd have been a great test case in the Championship to get these nonsense rules thrown out at EU level.
Re: Financial Fair Play
No, they'd have been applied immediately and they'd have challenged them as they had already indicated.

Re: Financial Fair Play
What?
QPR would not have faced any sanctions if they hadn't been promoted. In any case, nothing would be applied immediately as they'd still have until 1st December to submit their report for last season. It even says in the rules that the sanctions will only apply after 1st December 2014, with the January 2015 transfer window being the first where any embargo will apply.Football League FFP rules wrote:Clubs relegated from the Premier League will not be subject to sanctions in their first season in the Championship as long as they have met their financial obligations under Premier League regulations. They would, however, be subject to the potential of a Fair Play Tax if they achieved promotion in their first season in the Championship whilst not complying with the FFP regulations.
Re: Financial Fair Play
So you're telling me QPR wouldn't have faced any sanctions had they remained in the Championship?

Re: Financial Fair Play
Man, this is so long ago I can't even remember the point of the argument. So I'll suggest it should have been 4 times as much. Or nothing at all.

Birmingham set to be deducted 9 points dropping them down into 18th
