Re: Quarantine in the Hot Pot Edition: Blackburn Rovers v Swansea City, Tue 19 Jan 2021, KO 1945 POSTPONED

Is the pitch really waterlogged, or is it simply bored of a stagnating team that is not achieving as much on the pitch as it’s probably capable of?

Re: Current Events/News

Welsh First Minister worries that vaccinating people too efficiently will leave staff with nothing to do.

Is there a competition amongst the UK's leaders to prove who is the most incompetent?

It's not just the journalists. Whitty uses the same charts too. :footinmouth:
Yeah, well he's enjoying his 15 minutes. The media should be scrutinising what he provides rather than just regurgitating it.

Re: Rovers vs. Doncaster, FA Cup: Post-match

Loans are very useful if you have ambitions beyond maintaining your current position. They open up a market for a calibre of player you may not be able to attract or afford on a full time contract. Steve Archibald from Barcelona, anyone? And also, if you are successful in climbing the ladder, you ca...

Re: Current Events/News

How you could be in any doubt about me understanding the point is amazing given I led with "local area" isn't a legal definition..... and yet you're the one criticising Johnson for asking us to do what he says not what he does.... which would require the guidance to be specific.... I was ...

Re: Current Events/News

Whatever. Walking one inch from your house is therefore "travelling". The whole point is there is no legal definition of "your area" or "local area". It's interpretive. I mean, our local galaxy cluster group is called exactly that: local; so anywhere there is f...

Re: Current Events/News

Trump impeached again. At least there's weight to it this time. Academic for his current term, but hopefully they'll vote to bar him from standing again.

Re: Current Events/News

Hardly - you're proving my point by putting forward different interpretations and spins on the written guidance as published. You seem to think there's some difference between "exercising" by cycling and "travelling" by cycling. If that's true, then there is no reason to ...

Re: Current Events/News

Exercise is a reasonable excuse. And the Derbyshire police have rescinded their completely unreasonable fine. I think you'll find there's stipulations on where and when exercise is deemed a "reasonable excuse". You may leave the home to exercise with your household (or support bubble) or ...

Re: Current Events/News

Depends whether he rode there or not. If he did, it's fine, if not... we'll it's still fine, but advised against. Yet police elsewhere in the country have been handing out fines for people doing just that. The lockdown guidance says it is law, not advisory, and you will be fined for being outside y...

Re: Rovers vs. Doncaster, FA Cup: Post-match

I go back to my original question: Why was there no FA Cup match thread? Looking at match threads over the season, most are started by Thor, otherwise they're started by yourself. Now if you didn't start one this time because you're fed up of the manager, that's your business. But you can't claim i...

Re: Current Events/News

Do as we say, not as we do.

I guess that's what happens when you make up a load of ambiguous contradictory rules that don't seem to serve the intended purpose anyway.

Re: Rovers vs. Doncaster, FA Cup: Post-match

I said give him to the end of the season. That’s enough time. Enough time for what? We're in a league where anyone can beat anyone on any given day. What exactly are you expecting him to be able to do between now and the end of the season that will suddenly make us the dominant force over sides tha...

Re: Rovers vs. Doncaster, FA Cup: Post-match

It's funny, I was just thinking over the weekend that the one benefit of this forced detachment from football was that it at least stopped fans getting antsy and making unreasonable demands to make managers unemployed. Oh well... Mowbray's more than proved himself competent over the last four years....
