Re: 2019/2020 season

What do you mean, my first involvement was personal? I pointed out you'd missed the obvious sarcasm in someone else's comment and you shouldn't have chucked an insult at them. That's not a personal dig, it's about something incorrect and rude that you wrote. I had hoped to prompt an apology to Darth...

Re: 2019/2020 season

You can look forward to them then. As for the comparison to flu: perhaps you should have read what I was saying instead of assuming? But keep on being antagonistic and trying to have a fight. I'm going to log out now. What on earth is antagonising you? You disputed it would be hundreds of thousands...

Re: 2019/2020 season

I apologise, but I did say tell me if I've got it wrong, I didn't just assume. Since we're not at a stage where everything is shut down, and you keep drawing a direct comparison to flu where as you keep pointing out, no social measures are enforced, that gave the impression you think the same should...

Re: 2019/2020 season

I don't think it's going to be a few hundred thousand. I don't think it will be close. Well, that report says In total, in an unmitigated epidemic, we would predict approximately 510,000 deaths in GBand 2.2 million in the US, not accounting for the potential negative effects of health systems being...

Re: 2019/2020 season

Wee let's ignore that.... There's no vaccine yet for covid-19, but neither is there a fully effective flu vaccination either. There are many strains of flu, which as you say, mutate over time, meaning that you can have the vaccine and still get flu (which is now why I don't bother having th...

Re: 2019/2020 season

No I've only ever been offered the 'flu one, which as far as I understand has to be updated each year because the virus mutates rendering previous versions useless. I'm no biologist, but I'm taking it as a given that existing vaccines won't work against this new corona virus.

Re: 2019/2020 season

If you think panic buying is humanity at its best, you're clearly an odd chap. Darth was very obviously being sarcastic, before you get too carried away insulting someone else... And the difference with the 'flu is that the most vulnerable are advised to immunise - I should know, having a chronic r...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Im not British and I ask this in peace. Do Britons really want Brexit and what are the positive and negative impact it has to the common people? I keep reading so many differing views and I thought it be best I asked this question directly to Brits. Furthermore, I have been to Britain twice, the 1s...

Re: General Election

No I did follow the context, and was pointing out how absurd it is. If that's what you were doing, then no you didn't. The whole point of ad absurdum style arguments is that that element of absurdity is central to it. There's no need to point it out. It's not everyone, it's just you. There's no rea...
