Re: What’s going on it’s very very quiet here??

I’ve been on here since I was a teenager so virtually half my life now, and I do still read from time to time, but like Gibbon rightly said, children have a way of absorbing all your time! I have my own daughter and I’m also fostering her sister (born to another bloke) now (or about to within the ne...

Re: Olympics Thread

Utterly bizarre decision by the rule makers. Also the decision to let the Danes run at all with all the tape on their shins and undervests they didn’t even have prior clearance to use… it’s a disappointing precedent and others will no doubt follow. Then it got worse today, the GB Keirin rider Katy M...

Rodwell is training with Sheffield United.
Training what?
A Gibbon. I’d imagine it would be excellent at long throws with the whip it could generate with those long arms. Not great defensively though

Bristol City are one of our bogey teams... like West Ham used to be back in the Premier League days. I can’t actually remember the last time we got a decent result against them? Does anyone know?

Re: General Election

Yes, and Sarah Wollaston is hardly renown for her Liberal credentials. All three have voted heavily against gay marriage and LGBTQ rights/issues. Philip Hall in particular was responsible for fronting a bid to force all migrants to the UK to be screened for HIV and refused entry if HIV positive. Not...

Re: General Election

Ahhh Yougov, run and founded by a Tory who along with most mainstream pollsters got the 2017 election so very, very wrong. Labour are fucking me right off at the moment, especially Lansman. This conference was supposed to be about unity and focusing on a new vision for the country and to sell that v...

Re: Obituaries...

R.I.P Anthoine Hubert. 22 is no age to die. I’ve followed his career for two years now and he was supremely talented. Certainly a future Formula 2 champion. I watched it unfold live on TV and I knew when I saw it, and where it happened on the truck, that it was going to be a bad one. That horrible p...

Exactly why people want Johnson to be removed.
Needless to say it didn’t work out well for the last guy to do this... the parallels with 1930’s Germany are clear to see too. These are very worrying times.

Re: Friendly: Bury/Blackburn

I agree, this does tend to happen but if you ask any Bolton or Bury fans whether they’d trade the 130 odd year history, FA cup wins, league wins, highs and lows for a clean slate and a new start... most of them would tell you to do one. I feel utterly gutted for both clubs. I never thought the day w...

Re: The Bolton chaos

RTT... it may still be Rovers if Venkys cut the cord and try to sell. The era of the plucky small-town club is nearly at an end I fear. We aren’t going to be self sufficient on the crowd levels alone, just as Bolton aren’t.

Re: Friendly: Bury/Blackburn

My personal thoughts, and I know I’ll get torn to bits for this in forensic detail, is that a small portion of every transfer should be held in a fund by the FA to rescue clubs from going completely bust. There would be checks and balances in place to prevent abuse of the system but ideally it would...
