There must be more to life than football?

Actually i'm one for leaving things as they are. Stoppages are part of the game. They in some way add to the pitch side experience. For example if your team is one down and the other team starts wasting time every way they can it seriously pisses you off. If the ref starts behaving like hitler then it gives the fans a chance to voice their opinion too. I think if they introduced video play back it would de-human our beautiful game. There clearly is a passion and a difference of emotions in the game of "Soccer" rather than a bland drawn out game of American football were it only becomes exciting three hours into the game with five seconds left on the clock when a field goal is needed to win a match. Incidently were the yanks get the term football from is a mystery cos the only time the ball actually touches the foot is at kick off and at field goal situations. The rest of the world as a different term of egg chasing. Its called Rugby. Which is far more entertaining than American Football.

Why take on board a point when you can remain blissfully ignorant, huh?

Blissfully ignorant?.....well like many people this side of the pond i took a bit of an interest when the NFL was televised on Channel 4 some years back. I even adopted a team in the shape of the Pittsburgh Steelers which at the time were under achieving being the whipping boys to teams like the 49er's and the Bears. As you probably know the steelers have a black and gold kit which i believe was inspired by a certain EPL team Wolves who at the time were doing quite well. The NFL highlights show was good viewing but i never subjected myself to a full length game to reasons i have given previously. I will admit i haven't followed the NFL in recent years but please do credit me with some knowledge of the NFL. I even remember the St.Louis Cardinals! :D

So you do actually accept that there's about as much playing time per hour in both NFL and football. Good, that's all you needed to say... ;)

I'm not a big fan of it, and I find the circus surrounding the game to be very corny. There's lulls in the action but that's true of any sport. Games can be one sided or boring. But there's plenty of key moments during the three hours, and I think the skills involved are just as impressive and provide as much drama as other sports.

Good game actually - first half was quite tight but Saints were good for the win in the end. Although I dozed off at 20 seconds to go and woke up when they were presenting the trophy I assume I didn't miss anything.

Feel like crap now.
