World Cup Dilemma

Postby behind enemy lines » Wed Mar 10, 2010 11:06 am

The world cup is a mere four months away now. Not many players get the chance to play on this stage so if a player gets the oportunity and they know that this maybe their only chance wouldn't they be tempted to make sure they have every chance of making the finals. At Rovers we have Robbo who is doing every thing he can to get in the squad. We also have Grella and Emerton who are certain squad members for Australia and Nelsen for New Zealand. Only thing that could possibly stop them going to South Africa is injury. I wouldn't deny any of these players a chance to play in the world cup finals but does that mean Rovers may suffer from these players being distracted from the immediate task of doing their best for Rovers.

If Grella isn't injured during the World Cup, I'll be suspicious.

They've not only got to take fitness, but they also need form going into the competition.

Grella is certainly under suspicion. Why would Grella risk being injured in a reserve match when it could stop him going to the world cup. Hence the injury during the warm up. Emmo is available for selection. Nelsen is injured of course and always gives 100%. It will interesting to see how many appearances they make from now to the end of the season. When there is competition for places the need for form is required. With New Zealand and Australia the lack of number of quality players means the likes of Nelsen, Grella and Emerton would have to break a leg to be not selected.

Guess who is injured yet again...I'll give you all a clue his last name starts with G and ends with an A.

Silly Iamarover. Elementary spelling error, it's obviously Barry Ganana.

Still - doesn't that article actually say he's NOT injured?

Ganana was immediately substituted with the midfielder holding his knee has he made his way to the dressing room, but reported after the game that it was just a clash of knees and that he came off as a precaution.

Yes it does. :hyper:

Here we can clearly see Vince Grella front row middle holding the small trophy. Vince is probably feeling his age a bit hence he is injury prone. :D

Logo? Those are clearly tubes of giant Victorian Parma violets nestled in their breast pockets. Use your eyes man! :disagree:
