full backs were raped today, i like chimbonda, he's had his moments but i do wonder what goes through his head for 95% of matches he plays, as for salgado, waste of time, put emerton or andrews in that position and free up a midfleld spot for whoever has the balls to take it :doh:

salgado today reminded me of zurab that day petrov did him

Webb was cack... probably didn't effect the outcome as he was pretty even handed in his ineptitude.

Salgado is a veteran player with a great career behind him. In his days at Real Madrid he faced the best players in the world. However the continental game is different to the fast paced EPL. I would state too with world class players in the Real team i'd bet salgado isn't used to having so much defending to do. The blame with this defeat like others lays with the managers persistance with playing Kalinic upfront on his own. Least he had the sense to drop Diouf today.

Frustrating game, all 3 goals could of been prevented. Salgado is a liability, anyone who was watching the game could see after the first 15 mins that Bale was to quick for him and that it was going to be a problem all game. How much bad luck does Kalinic have? Seemed a cracking goal to me. Fingers crossed Robbo isn't out for long!

I managed to watch this game today, and was disappointed with the performance. Completely disappointed. We managed to build the play well in the first half an hour, yet somehow reverted to long ball tactics after 40 minutes. The fact that they scored befoire half time pretty much gave all three points to Spurs. I think all the substitutes were negative, and would have liked to have seen Roberts instead of Di Santo, maybe after an hour of play to give us a chance to get a goal back earlier.

The loss of Robinson may prove deadly to our season, as in my view we are still not out of the relegation fight. People are saying that Webb cost us the game, and to some extent I agree, it was his worst game in a long time, but with the correct decisions, we wouldn't have won anyway. Spurs deserved a penalty just as we did, and they were largely the better team. Best settle in for the final couple of months, they are gonna be tough ones!

Clearly he was south east Savory :P I still think he is the most consistent referee in England unfortunately. They can all have a poor game I suppose

Being honest spurs were the better team but first half i thought we were doing ok for an away team, admittedly Salgado was in all kinds of trouble and, personally, i would have switched chimbonda to rb, olsson to lb and salgado on right wing, emerton in the middle with pedersen and dunn interchanging on the left/attacking mid. But had we made it to halftime att 0-0 i would have been relatively happy, unfortunately we are unable to defend for an entire half PLUS injury time :doh: :cry: :numpty;
The second half wasn't too inspiring but i feel we would have been in with a good chance of a point if Chimbonda understood the concepts of a)playing LEFT back, b)positional awareness related to that bunch of nice chaps wearing different coloured shirts to your mates and c)there is a reason for buying boots in pairs - you have TWO FUCKING FEET, say it with me "rightfoot and ri..." dammit :twisted: :king: :wave:
Obviously playing a second striker or a genuine attacking midfielder who can link up with Kalinic would also help but i have seen far worse performances than yesterdays...
PS: Jason Brown gets let off because he made a fair saves early on and sitting on a bench for 3 years doesn't generally aid concentration :scratch: ds

We should have snatched a draw.

My immediate thought was exactly the opposite. Brown should have done better with their second, but it's the first mistake I've seen him make. And the two saves he pulled off in the first half looked certain goals, simply because I'm used to Robinson getting nowhere near shots along the ground to the opposite corner.

I thought we played alright in the first half, but went to pieces in the second. If someone can explain to me why Andrews was first brought on and second moved back into defence minutes later, I'd be grateful. It looked like a complete tactical cock up to me, we ended up with less creativity on the pitch and lost our shape. Both Salgado and Chimbonda were guilty of simple mistakes (although I think any full back would have struggled to handle Bale on the day).

And I was happy to hear Harry Redknapp say he's never seen Howard Webb have a good game either. It was a typical performance from him, loads of critical mistakes I couldn't understand how he got wrong. It would have been a different game had he given the obvious foul on Dunn in the first half, but he evened out his errors in the second. Like Clattenburg, he lives off a reputation I don't think he deserves.
