Rovers Stats

Rovers have 7 home games left and 6 away fixtures. So far Rovers have 22 points from 12 homes games which is an average of 1.83 points per game. The away fixtures are a horror story of just 6 away points gained from 13 away fixtures. That is 0.46 points per game. So if we add the averages to the games played over the season maybe we can estimate how many points rovers might end up with. Multiply 1.83 by 19 home games works out at 34.77. Multiply 0.46 by 19 away games and you get 8.74. Then add the two totals together and you get 43.51. So by taking averages into consideration Rovers will amass a grand total of 43 points.
So were are rovers going to find another 15 points from? Rovers last four home fixtures look difficult to say the least with games against Chelsea,Man U,Arsenal and Everton in between. Rovers are going to have to improve on their travels with games against Burnley, Pompey and Wolves. You can forget anything at Liverpool,Spurs and with the last game at Villa are we going to have to go to Villa park and get something like Newcastle had to do last season. We went out of both cups their remember.

Believe, 4 points from 9th place and 7 from 19th place, think its best to start worrying after the next 2 home games if we fail to pick up any points.

I think winning the next 2 home games against hull and bolton is extremly important .
rovers have to pick up points against this winnable sides, or else rovers are going to be in trouble. we are still not far of the relegation zone.

This is how i think things will go,
Wins against Hull and Bolton
Draws against Birmingham,Everton,Burnley, Portsmouth and Wolves
Defeats against Liverpool,Chelsea,Man U, Arsenal, Spurs and Villa.
Thats only eleven points giving rovers 39 at the end of the season. I think rovers need to win at either Burnley, Wolves or Portsmouth to get over 40 points.

We could even get points against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool , Spurs & Villa if we play at our best and frustrate them and get lucky decisions our way or score a couple of set piece goals.

If teams below us can get results against the likes of them, then why cant we? Theres always the possiblity, especially at home. :|

I know its difficult for you, but keep the faith.

Don't know how much this will matter but Torres is out for Liverpool so we could get something from that game but unlikely.

I reckon that we could get wins at Pompey and Burnley.

I done the premier league predictor on the bbc website and came up with this
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/predictor/default.stm

15 Bolton 38 Points
16 Blackburn 38 Points
17 Wolves 35 Points
--------------------------------------
18 Burnley  35 Points
19 Hull 31 Points
20 Portsmouth 28 Points

Quite alot of the teams around us are playing each other so it may be lower than the 40 point mark to stay up, one or two fixtures are missing including a game for Hull who have played 37 games but according to my predictions a win won't be enough.

This reminds me of Rodney Marsh when he was on Soccer Saturday, he once came out with a big explanation of how he predicted the final table by taking each team's present points total, dividing it by the number of games so far and then multiplying by 38. :numpty;
